I've been around forever

And I wrote the very first code

I put the mainframe and the punch cards together

I'm a monkey, and I write the code

My code is cryptic but it get things done.

Sometimes that makes the system freeze

A pop-up, that says, "Wait please"

Well my brackets don't align

I might mis-use the "equal" sign

I can write some ugly code, but nevermind

Code can sooth your heart

It's not a pattern, it's an art

Your code looks, good to you
