Last night I got a call from not too far away

Somebody's moving needs to be out by today 

In twenty minutes try and be there if you can

By the way, does anybody have a moving van?

and I would appreciate you coming down.

This Tuesday evening there's an opportunity

I called to ask if you could make your schedule free 

Ten other people found a reason to decline

We need someone to help repair a sewer line 

Help me if you can, it's quite a mess

And the odor's kinda strong as you might guess

I'll be there alone all night unless

Some people never seem to lend a helping hand.
