Queasy

Lyrics by Paul Walker & Cory Smith, music by The Eagles (Take It Easy)

Well we were at the state fair

we had no cash to spare

with our seven children, standing in line

Four of ‘em were crying

two said they were dying

one of ‘em was startin’ to whine

Food was greasy, rich and cheee--zy,

with an intoxicating smell,

I ate like crazy

While indeed, it tasted grand

I didn’t seem to understand

that on the rides that we had planned

I might get quea—-sy

While we were all standing there

I started saying a prayer

when we came up to the front of the line

Roller coaster, I swear

200 feet in the air

caused my heart rate to start to climb

I’m no baby

okay, maybe

I had to prove that this sweet ride

would never own me

Forty seconds, then it’s done

I told myself, “This will be fun”

then the “carnie” strapped me in

feelin’ squeamy

The ride was in bad condition,

with some nuts and bolts missun’

that was not mentioned on the sign!

I got thrown in the air

and my hat went who knows where

I think it messed up my spine

I got queasy, even wheezy

and every person at that fair

heard me screaming

Behind closed eyes

I felt my food rise

and don’t ya know that bucket of fries

didn’t stay in me

Ew, ew, ew, ew

Ew, ew, ew, ew

Ew, ew

Oh I shoulda postponed

Eatin’ both those fair scones
